CBN Secures Major Share: AP Gets ₹608 Cr in Disaster Aid

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are among the five disaster-hit states that got the funds from the Centre. Unoin Home Minister Amit Shah-led high-level committee approved additional central aid. Rs 1554.99 crore aid has been approved for five states including AP, Telangana, Odisha, Nagaland and Tripura. Of these, AP got the lion share of the aid. The credit goes to AP CM Chandrababu Naidu who in tie-up with BJP is ruling in the state and the centre.

Amit Shah shared on X, “The Modi government stands like a rock in support of the disaster-affected people. Today, the MHA approved an additional central assistance of Rs. 1554.99 crore to Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana, and Tripura under the NDR fund. This is in addition to the Rs. 18,322.80 crore released by the centre to 27 states under the SDR fund.”

Under the National Disatster Response Fund (NDRF), Andhra Pradesh to get Rs 608.08 crore, Nagaland to receive Rs 170.99 crore, Odisha to get Rs 255.24 crore, Telangana to receive Rs 231.75 crore and Tripura to get Rs 288.93 crore. This is towards the natural calamaties, floods, flash floods, landslides, and cyclonic storms that affected the five states in 2024.

Apart from this aid, the Centre has also allocated Rs 18,322.80 crore to 27 states under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), Rs 4,808.30 crore from NDRF to 18 states, Rs 2,208.55 crore from the State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF) to 14 states and Rs 719.72 crore from the National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF) to eight states.
