YCP’s Next Big Wicket Botsa: Into Janasena Or BJP?

YSR Congress is a largely depleted political force in Andhra Pradesh now. The party has been steadily and alarmingly losing senior leaders and former public representatives. And it appears that the situation is not going to get any better for the Jagan party in the near future either.

According to reports, Botsa Satyanarayana could be the next big wicket down for YCP and related backend indications are in abundance now. Notably, the speculations about Botsa, possibly leaving YCP aren’t new either. This originated when the senior leader met with deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan, outside the Assembly, a few months ago and had a brief interaction with him. He was seen with a bright smile on his face while interacting with Kalyan.

And interestingly enough, something of this sort has happened again during the public representatives photo shoot session that happened at the Andhra Pradesh assembly today.

Reportedly, Botsa readily took the occasion to meet deputy chief minister Kalyan today and had a pleasant interaction with him. Reportedly, he was accompanied by other representatives of YCP as well. But all the attention is obviously on the meeting between Kalyan and Botsa.

While the primary point that has been communicated is that Botsa spoke with Kalyan about the Kolleru Lake issue that is affecting the nearby farmers, there might be hidden political implications behind the same. In fact, it is very clear that the YCP Senior is clearly looking to be in the good books of Kalyan. Many people are seeing this as an indication of his implication to join JSP.

At the end of the day, this is still just a speculation and political theory with no substantial development. It can also be noted that Botsa is a congress blood leader and is one of the last standing vocal representatives of YCP at the higher level. Losing him would be a deadly blow to the Jagan party.

But if the speculation turns out to be true an Botsa actually looks at JSP or even BJP, which is already on a mission of attracting outgoing YCP leaders, things could get very tricky for Jagan very soon.
