A Daring Step By Revanth Reddy!

It has been over a year and a half since Telangana CM Revanth Reddy took charge. However, until now, there hasn’t been much focus on his administration’s performance. Issues like state development, bringing industries to the state, reforms in the education system, measures for a brighter future for students, water management, and the implementation of welfare schemes have not received much attention from him so far. But now, Revanth has turned his focus towards administrative reforms. A key order was issued by the Telangana government on Friday as a testament to this shift in focus.

It is well-known that many retired officials have been holding significant positions in the state for years, continuing to exert influence. Even after years, no new names have been heard in these positions, and the same retired officials remain in power. To address this, Revanth took a significant decision on Friday. He decided to remove all such retired officials who are still holding key positions in a contractual capacity. An estimated 6,729 retired officials across various departments are still serving in such key roles in Telangana.

If Revanth’s decision is implemented, several key officials currently holding major positions, including chiefs of important organizations, will lose their positions. Some of the notable names on this list include NVS Reddy, MD of Metro Rail, Kishan Rao, Vice Chairman of Yadagirigutta Temple, B.L.N. Reddy, Consultant Engineer, and around 10 directors in GenCo and TransCo. B.L.N. Reddy, who was serving as a consultant for the government, had recently been questioned by the ACB, ED, and CBI regarding the “Formula E” car racing scandal, along with KTR. NVS Reddy, on the other hand, has been leading the Metro Rail project since its inception. With the implementation of Revanth’s decision, all these individuals will lose their positions.
