The much-awaited moment for Andhra Pradesh’s new capital Amaravati is finally here. PM Narendra Modi is all set to restart the construction works of Amaravati on May 2. This grand event is being treated as top priority by the state NDA government, and large-scale arrangements are already in place.
The venue has been finalized — behind the Secretariat buildings in the Amaravati capital region. Most of the setup is already completed. Given the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the security for Modi’s visit is being taken extremely seriously. Never before has Amaravati witnessed such a tight security setup.
The CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) has laid out several rules for attendees:
— No entry without the original invitation card.
— Visitors must come empty-handed.
— Items like mobile phones, handbags, cameras, cigarette lighters, electronic gadgets, water bottles, and even car locking devices are strictly prohibited.
These instructions are clearly printed on the invitation itself. Many are now wondering how people, who are so used to carrying phones, will manage without them during the event. However, reports suggest that the public is responding positively to these precautions, understanding the need for high security.
The PM’s tour will last around one and a half hour. Due to the recent terror threat, even the number of political leaders allowed on the stage will be limited. The event will begin with welcome remarks by Municipal Minister Narayana, followed by speeches from Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Modi himself. Before the speeches, Modi will formally launch the restart of Amaravati’s construction works.
Overall, Modi’s Amaravati tour is set to happen under tight security and strict guidelines, driven by the need to ensure safety at every level.
