The Indian Army has successfully completed one of its biggest anti terrorism operations in the form of Operation Sindoor which neutralised 9 terrorism camps in Pakistan last night. On this matter, the Indian armed forces representatives addressed the nation and briefed about the series of events.
Incidentally, there was something very interesting that happened at this media briefing as we got to witness two female officers brief the nation. This is the first time in history that female officers briefed the nation in the aftermath of a major military operation.
The two officers are Col. ‘Sophia Qureshi’ & ‘Wing Cdr. Vyomika Singh’ and they explained the series of events pertaining to Operation Sindoor. They accompanied principal orator, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri who communicated that the target locations are those of the ones harbouring terrorism groups.
In a major power move, Col. Sofiya Qureshi, presented videos showing destroyed terror camps, including Mehmoona Joya camp, Sialkot, which lies 12-18 km inside Pakistan. This is one of the biggest camps of Hizbul Mujahideen. It is one of the control centres for spreading terrorism in the Kathua, Jammu region. The camp planned and directed the attack on the Pathankot air force base camp.
Vyomika Singh said, “Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian Armed Forces to deliver justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and their families. Nine terrorist camps were targeted and successfully destroyed.”
