Telugu cinema is currently mourning the passing of legendary actor Kota Srinivasa Rao is no longer with us after he is sadly passed away early in the day today due to age related ailments. He is one of the most celebrated artists in Telugu cinema and the fact that he had featured and more than 750 films is a clear implication of the same.
While his film career is known to everyone and highly regarded by the followers of Telugu cinema, not many people might be aware of the fact that he even has a political past.
Kota Srinivasa Rao was an active member of the Bharatiya Janata party back in the 1990s and he had even contested as an MLA from Vijayawada East constituency in 1999 election. Incidentally, he had even won the election comprehensively and served as an MLA for five years between 1999 to 2004.
But he went rather stagnated after this electoral victory as he steadily moved away from politics and back to films. He perhaps decided his loyalty are more with films and he’s better suited here.
Kota is highly rated by Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu as well. Babu had even shared an emotional message in the context of Kota’s passing today.
