CM Chandrababu Naidu has announced a series of festive benefits for government employees as a Diwali gift. The move covers several key welfare measures aimed at addressing pending employee demands and improving work conditions.
The state government has decided to release 1 DA for employees, which will be implemented from November 1, incurring an expenditure of around ₹160 crore. Additionally, for police personnel, one instalment of surrender leave payments will be cleared, with the remaining dues to be paid in two phases totaling ₹210 crore.
Chandrababu also announced that within the next 60 days, all administrative systems related to health reimbursements will be fully streamlined to ensure real-time processing of medical expenses.
In a significant relief for women employees, the government has decided to allow 180 days of child care leave to be utilized anytime until retirement, removing any age limit for availing these leaves.
For RTC employees, the Chief Minister assured that pending promotions will soon be cleared. Furthermore, property tax exemptions will be provided for employees’ union buildings, and class IV employees will be re-designated to enhance their dignity and recognition within the workforce.
These measures reflect the government’s commitment to improving employee welfare and ensuring administrative efficiency across departments.
