The sensational murder of former mayor of Chittoor town, Katari Anuradha and her husband Katari Mohan back in November 2015, is one of the most controversial incidents in Telugu state politics.
These two TDP leaders were brutally murdered by multiple individuals inside the municipal office back in November 2015, and the case has been in the hearing stage at the court ever since.
Today, the ninth additional court in Chittoor delivered as sensational verdict in this case as the five accused have been sentenced to death penalty.
Sriram Chandrasekhar, alias Chintu who was found guilty along with Govinda Swami Srinivasaiah Venkatachalapathy, alias Venkatesh; Jayaprakash Reddy, alias Jayareddy; Manjunath, alias Manju; and Muniratnam Venkatesh were all sentenced to death in connection with this case.
It was then reported that a family dispute led to this highly controversial murder of the mayor couple in Chittoor, which shook the political scene of the town for several years. And after nearly a decade, the final judgement has been delivered.
Very rarely, we see five people getting death sentences in a single case and this Chittoor Mayor murder turns out to be one such rare occurrence.
