Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has taken a firm stance on ensuring high-quality standards in road construction across rural Andhra Pradesh. He stated that he, along with technical experts, will personally visit sites to check if the work meets quality benchmarks.
In a review meeting with Panchayat Raj and engineering officials, Pawan made it clear that there should be no compromise when it comes to road quality. He warned that any irregularities or substandard work will lead to strict accountability for the concerned officers.
He explained that the state has received ₹2,000 crore from the central government under the SASCI scheme, which will be utilized to rebuild damaged rural roads. Pawan directed officials to prioritize severely damaged stretches first and ensure that every project adheres to the prescribed engineering standards.
He also criticized the previous government for neglecting road development despite having access to central funds. “Our goal is to make visible improvements in every constituency. Roads must be built strong, durable, and as per national quality norms,” he asserted.
The coalition government, he added, is committed to using these funds effectively to provide better connectivity and lasting infrastructure in rural areas.
