Asha Kiran, daughter of the late Vangaveeti Ranga, is preparing to step into active politics after staying away from public life for nearly a decade. She revealed her intentions while paying tribute to her father in Vijayawada, stating that she wants to work towards fulfilling his ideals.
Asha said she has no differences with her brother, Vangaveeti Radha, and believes she has his support. She added that both of them may take different political decisions, but that does not affect their relationship. She also assured the members of the Ranga Mitra Mandali that she would stand by them.
Asha Kiran said she will decide which political party to join only after consulting senior members of the Ranga Mitra Mandali.
Vangaveeti Ranga remains a prominent name in Andhra Pradesh’s political history. He emerged as a strong Kapu community leader and was elected MLA from Vijayawada Central in 1985. His assassination in 1988 created a huge uproar. His son Radha later entered politics, winning once as an MLA, and later contesting from various parties before moving to the TDP, where he is currently inactive.
After nearly twenty years away from the political spotlight, Asha Kiran is now re-emerging. Political circles are already speculating that she may join the YSRCP, though she has not confirmed it yet.
