YCP Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, who was arrested in connection with a contaminated liquor case, has finally been granted bail after spending 226 days in custody.
Bhaskar Reddy was taken into custody in June last year during the NDA government’s tenure. He was named as an accused in the contaminated liquor case and had been seeking bail for several months.
On Tuesday, the Andhra Pradesh High Court approved his bail petition, clearing the way for his release from jail. The court also granted bail to his associates Sajjala Sridhar and Venkatesh Naidu, who were accused in the same case.
However, the High Court rejected the bail plea of the main accused in the case, Raj Kasireddy, identified as A1.
It is also worth noting that former minister Jogi Ramesh, who was arrested in a separate contaminated liquor case, was released on bail last week. With these developments, several YSRCP leaders arrested in liquor related cases have secured bail in recent weeks.
