The Gates Foundation chairman Bill Gates visited Andhra Pradesh’s Real Time Governance Society center to review how the state is using technology to strengthen governance.

During his hour long visit, CM Chandrababu Naidu gave a detailed presentation on RTGS operations. He explained how the government is using data lake systems, the AWARE 2.0 platform, WhatsApp governance, the Sanjeevani health project, and technology driven civic services to improve public service delivery. Gates listened attentively and asked several questions to understand the functioning of the system.

The picture was captured during this interaction. As Naidu explained various digital initiatives, Gates appeared impressed and expressed the same with a simple hand gesture, reflecting his appreciation for the presentation.

When Naidu spoke about collecting public feedback and measuring satisfaction levels through RTGS, Gates appreciated the structured monitoring mechanism. He also asked about land record security. Naidu explained that blockchain technology and QR codes are being used to prevent tampering and ensure transparency.

Health care was another major topic of discussion. Gates enquired about the Sanjeevani project in Kuppam, which is being supported by the Gates Foundation. Naidu said the government is maintaining digital health records using artificial intelligence. Gates welcomed the initiative and suggested that diagnostic services should be made affordable for poor families.

The discussion also covered Amaravati’s development, which Naidu described as a future green and blue city. Gates praised Andhra Pradesh’s efforts in using technology in agriculture, disaster management, and governance. He also recalled his long association with Naidu and appreciated his forward thinking approach toward digital transformation.
