ABN RK’s Old School Advice To Nara Lokesh

Earlier this week, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy found fault with Nara Lokesh going to the Stadium for watching Cricket Matches and advised him to watch the matches on TV and be a responsible leader. Entire Social Media mocked Jagan being so old school and questioned what is wrong to watch the match.

Surprisingly, ABN RK in his weekend column, found fault with Lokesh on this matter.

“I liked one thing Jagan Reddy said about Minister Lokesh in the press conference. I don’t know with what motive Jagan Reddy criticized Minister Lokesh, but there is a point in what he said. ‘Why does Lokesh go abroad to watch cricket matches? He can sit at home and watch it on TV’ is meaningful in his words. Lokesh recently went to cricket matches held in Dubai, Mumbai, and Colombo. The damage caused by MP Sana Satish being by his side was more than the damage caused by going like this. If someone wants to reach high positions in life, he has to give up personal pleasures and habits. That is why it is said that if you want one, you have to give up the other. This applies even more to those in politics,”

He cited the example of Chandrababu Naidu to school Lokesh. “Let’s take Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He has given up all his personal pleasures and luxuries. If Lokesh also wants to gain more popularity in politics, he should take his father as an example. Lokesh should also realize the fact that people judge us by the people around us. In all the photos that are seen on social media, Lokesh’s presence with Sana Satish next to him has caused more damage than going to watch a cricket match. Lokesh, who is just now gaining recognition in politics, would be better off if he were more careful in such matters. It is not that Jagan Reddy said that there is no need to go abroad as a minister to watch a cricket match. Did he go at his own expense? Did he go at the government’s expense? It is not that Lokesh, as a person who wants to lead the Telugu Desam Party after Chandrababu, should give up some fun. It is better for him to be careful not to give his political opponents a chance to criticize him,” he added.

The criticism of having Sana Satish on his side is a bigger topic. Sana Satish is TDP’s Rajya Sabha MP and may even get an extension in the next bunch. If we delve into Sana Satish topic, it will be a different matter.

But RK schooling Lokesh about discipline, sacrificing personal desires and pleasures, and asking him to take the route of Chandrababu Naidu by being reclusive of everything sounds a bit funny.

Personal Desires, Pleasures, Indiscipline are too big words for something as simple as watching a cricket match in a stadium.

As RK said, Lokesh may have gone to watch three or four matches. That means four to eight days in the span of around two years.

People do not expect leaders to work round the clock for them. It is more than enough if they are sincere whenever they are in office.

In fact, leaders working without a break is something so old school. People are not narrow-minded to understand leaders need a break in their lives. No one here expects leaders to sacrifice their family and personal time and lives like a hermit.

Chandrababu Naidu does not sacrifice anything. He is someone who does not have such interests. It is not necessary that Lokesh is the same as his father.

It is surprising how RK went to say this even after Jagan’s comments got backlash. As a media owner, he is expected to know what people are talking about.
