The official election affidavit that was filed by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee yesterday has become a topic of discussion already. She had disclosed that she has less than ₹16 lakh in overall assets, and this includes just ₹45,000 in cash.
This would rank Mamata Banerjee as the poorest chief minister in India, and this is particularly interesting considering that she had served as the CM of West Bengal for 14 years already.
However, immediately after this declaration was made by the West Bengal chief minister, there have been several social media posts about her lifestyle.
In this connection, a few pictures of Mamata Banerjee wearing super costly smart devices like Apple Watch, a Whoop fitness tracker and another fitness ring.
A few social media users are commenting that the total value of the fitness trackers worn by the West Bengal chief minister itself account to more than Rs 1 lakh but she declared overall assets of Rs 16 lakh and this doesn’t make financial sense.
The public commentary is the chief minister has declared marginally low asset value, but in reality, her lifestyle and expenditures are appear to be completely different. They are pointing out that the fact that Mamata wears fitness devices worth Rs 1 lakh itself indicates the same.
But at the end of the day, the chief minister naturally has a few perks going their way and it can’t be deducted just by her fitness trackers or any apparatus as such.
