Is Congress Playing With Fire in Tamil Nadu Power Game?

Tamil Nadu politics are replicating a proper political thriller film as we are seeing new twists and turns every single hour. The majority of these political narratives are surrounding the single largest party TVK, which is yet to form the government.

While Vijay had been actively looking for alliances to secure the remaining 10 seats to form the government, other parties are playing their cards, wisely. It looks nearly certain that Vijay could partner with Congress, which has five MLAs, but this is not going to be a straightforward proposition.

Reportedly Congress is demanding multiple cabinet berths and nominated posts if they’re to support Vijay. This is a political loot if they pressure Vijay too much with regard to berths, considering that Congress only has 5 MLAs in total.

There is another complication here as the DMK has significant strength in the parliament, and going against this regional party would not be a good sign for Congress who were in alliance with them for the last five years. This would affect the number of Congress alliance at the center.

At the same time, the latest developments are suggesting that the AIDMK is also looking to break into pieces as a section of the MLAs are pushing for an alliance with Vijay. If this goes through, then Vijay will not need the support of any other parties and can happily form the government with the AIDMK MLAs.

Time is going to run out quickly for Vijay, and he will have to secure some sort of an alliance to form the government in the first place, and this is where his political skills will be tested.
