Another Working President In BRS?

Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao created a Working President post in the BRS Party so as to project his son, K Taraka Ramarao as his next heir.

Chandrababu Naidu is following the same in the case of Nara Lokesh. But then, surprisingly, KCR is thinking on the lines of creating one more Working President post in the BRS Party.

The BRS leadership is focusing on strengthening the party organizationally with the upcoming Assembly elections as the primary target. As part of this effort, they have prioritized membership drives and appointed in-charges at the district and constituency levels.

Once that task is complete, they intend to constitute village, mandal, and district committees, as well as the state executive body.

The Working President plan to create a significant post within the party to represent the Backward Classes (BCs).

To shed the “family-run” image and demonstrate a strong commitment to social equations, there is talk of creating a second working president post alongside KTR’s. It seems the plan is to appoint this new working president around September or October, coinciding with the elections for the party president’s post.

Internal discussions within the BRS indicate a preference for appointing a BC leader to this position. Party leaders state there are several reasons for creating a new Working President position. Currently, the voice of the BC (Backward Classes) movement is gaining momentum across the country and the state.

By elevating a BC leader to a status equal to KTR’s, the party aims to achieve multiple objectives: prioritizing weaker sections and shedding the perception of being a family-centric party. KCR is said to be deliberating on the choice of candidate for this new role.

With elections approaching for three municipal corporations in the Hyderabad region and the Graduates’ Constituency seat covering Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar, and Ranga Reddy districts, there is speculation that a leader from this region will be named the Working President.

Party sources indicate that former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav is a frontrunner for the position.
