Modi’s Best Ally Meloni Begs For Trump Selfie?

United States president, Donald Trump is one of the most unpredictable global personalities and he often makes some of the most insane comments that tend to create a public discourse.

A short while ago, US President Donald Trump reportedly told an Italian news channel that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, a close ally of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was eager to take a picture with him at the G7 Summit. Trump claimed he agreed only because he “felt sorry for her.”

This was a wildly inappropriate comment from the United States president to make about a female Prime Minister. And now it turns out that this was just a false claim made by the US president.

Now, Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has cancelled a planned visit to the US on June 21-22, saying Trump’s reported comments about PM Giorgia Meloni are unacceptable and shameful.

In response to this, Meloni said Donald Trump’s statements are completely made up, I’m frankly appalled. I don’t know why the President of the United States behaves this way with his own allies, after all, it’s not the first time it’s happened.

I can only say it’s a shame that he doesn’t show the same determination with the enemies of the West, with the enemies of the United States, with leaderships toward which he instead proves much more accommodating. However, one thing he must remember, I and Italy never beg, she concluded on this matter.

It was inappropriate on the part of United States president Trump to make such a comment on a female prime minister and the repercussions are being felt now.
