Ex CM Furious With Corruption, Not Contesting Next Term!

Former chief minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah is known for his outspoken attitude, and this was again on display when he publicly announced that he would not be contesting in the 2028 assembly election.

The shocking thing here is that the senior leader who had served as the chief minister of Karnataka multiple terms and was recently replaced by DK Siva Kumar said politics have become corrupted.

“Since the political field has become corrupted today, I will not contest in the 2028 assembly elections. However, remaining active in politics, I will continue to stand as a voice for the people’s hardships and joys.” The ex CM publicly announced today.

The fact that a former chief minister is alleging that politics have become extremely corrupt and announced that he would not be contesting the next election, perhaps reflect the political scenario in Karnataka. It has been just a couple of months since Siddaramaiah was replaced as the CM and he has already started to hint about retirement.

Adding further, he said “I am now 79 years old. Our government’s term still has one and a half years left. By then, I will be 81-82 years old. My health is not as robust as it used to be. It is no longer possible to work with the same enthusiasm as before. By 2028, I will be 82 years old. That will mark the completion of 50 years in my political life.”

This will mark the ending of a legacy political career that lasted more than five decades as one of the senior most politicians in Karnataka is waving goodbye to politics.
