The slogan “Rappa Rappa,” a famous Pushpa Dialogue, which had become a regular feature during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent public tours, appears to have vanished. The catchy phrase, once seen on banners and placards across YSRCP events, was completely missing during his latest visit to Devarapalli.
The change comes after police reportedly began taking a strict view of slogans and banners that could be interpreted as encouraging violence or disturbing public order. Cases were reportedly registered against some individuals who displayed such material during earlier events.
During Jagan’s visit to support tobacco farmers, supporters came in large numbers. However, instead of the familiar “Rappa Rappa” placards, a new set of banners dominated the gathering.
Many supporters, especially women and youth, carried placards with messages praising Jagan, calling him their leader and expressing unwavering support. The slogan that once echoed through party events was nowhere to be seen.
Police maintained tight security throughout the tour. Though permission for the programme was initially uncertain, it was granted at the last minute. Jagan reached the venue by helicopter and interacted directly with the farmers.
Interestingly, police were reportedly alert for any display of “Rappa Rappa” banners and had made special arrangements to act if such placards appeared. That situation never arose as the slogan remained absent throughout the event.
Whether the disappearance is temporary or marks a permanent shift in YSRCP’s campaign style remains to be seen. For now, the police crackdown seems to have ensured that “Rappa Rappa” has quietly disappeared from Jagan’s public meetings.
