For the last few months, Andhra Pradesh politics had been extensively discussing the Tirupati Laddu alteration fiasco. The ruling and opposition factions have been indulging in heated verbal debates on this matter.
Now the issue has reached the Supreme Court as a petition was filed to move the Tirupati Laddu case investigation outside Andhra Pradesh, considering the political gravity involved.
However, the Supreme Court has declined to transfer the trial in the Tirupati laddu adulteration case outside Andhra Pradesh at this stage.
Incidentally, senior advocate Siddharth Dave filed a petition for the transfer, citing a hostile atmosphere and alleged continuing political statements by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said the court had silenced them all with our order, adding that the petitioners could approach the court if anything happened.
The CJI concluded that no grounds for transferring the trial had been made out at this stage. This would essentially mean that the investigation on this case will be continuing in Andhra Pradesh and further legal proceedings will be planned and executed accordingly.
