Just-In: Jagan Imposes Day Curfew!

With the surge in Covid-19 cases, Andhra Pradesh state government has imposed the day curfew in the state. The day curfew will begin from 12 pm. The shops and businesses are allowed to open from 6 am to 12 pm. The day curfew will come into force from 5th May. The move is to curb the further spread of the Coronavirus.

The state government announced that the day curfew will last for two weeks and the situation would be revised after the two weeks. However, emergency services have been exempted during the curfew hours. AP government however claims that this is a partial curfew as shops and businesses are allowed for 6 hours.

Currently, night curfew is in force in AP. The public movement has been restricted from 10 PM to 5 AM in AP. This has now been extended from 12 PM to 5 AM.

Odisha is under complete lockdown. Karnataka is under full lockdown. Tamil Nadu also has full restrictions in place. Only Telugu states have night curfews and going by the situation, Telugu states are also contemplating to impose lockdown in coming days.
