Telangana Lockdown For 10 Days: Restrictions & Measures

The surge in the number of Covid cases has left the Telangana government with no option but to lock down the state for at least 10 days. Now the Government order is out and the lockdown is official as per the Disaster Management Act 2005.

The orders were issued to impose additional lockdown restrictions to control and contain the spread after the night curfew and partial lockdown results. The state will be locked down for 10 days, starting at 10:00 AM on 12.05.2021 to 6 AM on 22.05.2021.

The will be complete lockdown in all parts of the state from 10 AM to 6 AM of the following day for a period of 10 days. The lockdown restrictions shall not apply during the period of 6 AM to 10 AM every day.

During the mentioned period, the following regulations and measures shall be enforced :

  • Passenger vehicles shall be regulated on the State borders. Commodities movement will be permitted without any restrictions.
  • All public transport services including TSRTC buses, SETWIN, Hyd Metro, Taxis, autos, will be permitted from 6 AM to 10 AM only. Health care workers and passengers on medical emergency shall be permitted.
  • No Inter-State bus transport services are permitted.
  • Those who require home isolation should observe it to avoid penal action and being shifted to a Government isolation facility.
  • All Government and private establishments should make payments of wages/full salaries to the workers/employees during the lockdown period. Violation leads to penal action.
  • Marriage-related gatherings must follow social distancing, face masks, and other Covid related protocols, with a maximum number of persons allowed not more than 40.
  • Funeral/ Last rites gatherings shall follow social distancing, face masks wearing with a maximum number of persons allowed not exceeding 20.
  • All religious places shall be closed for public worship. No religious gatherings are permitted.
  • Pregnant women who are expected to deliver during the period will be listed, monitored, and assisted by medical staff to ensure institutional delivery.
  • Temporary Police check posts shall be set up to ensure strict compliance.

Permitted Activities:

  • Medical services, Hospitals, diagnostic centers, vaccinations and related activities.
  • Agriculture and related operations
  • Production, sale and supply of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, spare parts etc. Procurement operations of agricultural and horticultural produce, including operation of rice mills
  • cold storage and warehouses
  • Medical shops and pharmacies
  • Movement of medicine, oxygen, vaccine etc
  • Manufacturing activity relating to frugs and medical equipment
  • Production and districbution of power, supply of drinking water
  • Sanitation services in Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies
  • Petrol Pumps on National Highways. Local petrol pumps will operate from 6 AM to 10 AM only.
  • Banks/ATMs, Insurance services and related activities
  • Print and electronic media
  • Supply chain and transport of essential commodities, including milk, vegetables, groceries, dairy products
  • E-commerce of goods and merchandise including food, pharmaceutical and medical equipment
  • IT and ITeS, including telecom, postal and internet services
  • Movement and distribution of LPG cylinders
  • All construction and project activities

Prohibited activities

Cinema halls, amusement parks, clubs, Swimming pools, gymnasiums will be completely closed.
