As speculated, former minister Etala Rajender switched loyalty to the BJP from the ruling TRS party. He joined the saffron party in the presence of Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Tarun Chugh. There has been a huge exodus from the TRS.
Apart from him, former MLA Engu Ravinder Reddy, Karimnagar ZP former chairperson Tula Uma, Gandra Nalini, RTC Worker Union leader Aswathama Reddy, former MP Ramesh Rathod, Ande Balaiah also joined the BJP.
For the last few days, Rathod has been simmering with dissent against the Congress high command and there was speculation that he too would switch sides. There is information that he joined the BJP after speaking to his supporters and taking their opinion. Rathod’s entry into the BJP will help the party gain a stronghold in Adilabad.
Earlier, Rathod was elected as an MLA from Khanapur and now, the political equations in the constituency will definitely change.
Union minister Kishan Reddy, party national vice president D.K. Aruna, Telangana BJP unit president Bandi Sanjay and others were also present.
