Modi Creates ‘Ministry Of Cooperation’

As per an official statement from the central government, the Modi-led BJP government has created a new union cabinet portfolio with the name ‘Ministry of Cooperation’. The government called it a historic move.

The government stated the Ministry of Cooperation will be used to strengthen the cooperative movement in India. A new minister who will be holding this portfolio is likely to be named today – Wednesday.

Amid all the hype surrounding the cabinet reshuffle, the decision to create a new ministry portfolio is turning many heads.

The Ministry of Cooperation will be used to facilitate the ‘ease of doing business’ movement in the country. The government says this ministry will aid people-based cooperatives and it will be provided with administrative and legal framework.
