The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for assembly elections in four states and one Union Territory. Voting in Kerala, Assam and Puducherry will take place on April 9, while Tamil Nadu will vote on April 23. West Bengal will have two-phase polling on April 23 and 29. Counting of votes is scheduled for May 4.
