After the BCCI, announcing the reschedule of IPL 2020, there was a backlash about the title sponsor. Chinese smartphone company, VIVO was supposed to be the title sponsor but amidst India-China stand-off, VIVO has pulled out itself.
Since then the BCCI has been looking for a title sponsor and the latest reports are that some names might bid for the sponsorship. E-commerce giant Amazon, Mukesh Ambani’s Jio, BYJU’s, Dream11 and Coca-Cola are showing a lot of interest in joining IPL.
As the 2020 edition of IPL is due to begin from September 19th, BCCI has a lot of time to decide the sponsor. To be precise, whoever will bid with higher price, the title sponsor will be there’s.
VIVO has been IPL title sponsor from 2018 and it was a contract for five years i.e, till 2022. With this BCCI was making a revenue of Rs 440 crore.
