What A Disaster! Reddy Shines, But India Fails

The much anticipated Border Gavaskar trophy has started off on a disastrous note for the followers of the Indian cricket team. The visiting nation was absolute bamboozled by the quickfire Aussie bowling attack in the first test.

India got bundled out for a meager 150 runs in the first innings and this is also courtesy of a standard knock from debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy and a fiery Rishabh Pant.

Reddy and Pant cumulatively scored 78 runs, or else things could have gotten much worse for the Indian side.

The failure of the top order meant that the middle order had all the burden to carry and this wasn’t to be as Mitchel Starc and Hazelwood were virtually unplayable. Team India needed Virat Kohli to stand up in the top order but that didn’t happen as he got out for just 5 runs.

A lot will depend on how India bowls in the second innings. A lead of over 100 runs for the Aussies will mean that the game could well slip far away from the visiting nation.
