The first day of the fifth Test between India and Australia in Sydney ended in a thrilling fashion, with Jasprit Bumrah once again proving his mastery with the ball.
Despite Australia’s top-order struggles, managing only 9 runs for the loss of 1 wicket, Bumrah’s stunning delivery to Usman Khawaja on the last ball of the day sent him packing.
A sensational catch by KL Rahul at slip led to wild celebrations from the Indian team. However, the drama didn’t end there – Bumrah’s heated exchange with non-striker Constance added extra spice to an already intense contest.
During India’s batting innings, konstas displayed his aggression by hitting Bumrah’s first delivery to the boundary, signaling that the match was about to get more interesting. Later, while Bumrah was bowling, Khawaja moved toward the striker’s end, sparking a small verbal altercation between him and konstas, who was at the non-striker’s end. Bumrah gave a sharp reply to konstas’s words, but the situation was soon diffused by the umpire’s intervention.
What followed next was an intense moment where Bumrah, now visibly irritated, took out his frustration on Khawaja. The bowler’s perfect delivery got Khawaja caught at slip, and Bumrah’s celebratory roar seemed to carry a message directly for konstas.
