Telugu Boys Struggling Badly In IPL 2025!

2024 was possibly the best ever year for the Telugu community in IPL as we saw the emergence of two of our proudest exponents in the form of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Tilak Varma.

While Tilak Varma was already arranging sensation for Mumbai Indians, Nitish Kumar Reddy entered the scene for Sunrisers Hyderabad and quickly became one of their best players. Both of them eventually went on to play for the Indian national team as well.

With the strong rise of the Telugu players graph in the IPL, many felt the 2025 season is going to be the breakout year and these two youngsters would punch above their weight. However, the reality is turning out to be the exact opposite.

Ritesh Kumar Reddy is struggling to score big run for Hyderabad and is finding it hard to maintain discipline on field as well. In the last couple of matches, Nitish had multiple chances on the field while he is also struggling to get substantial scores with the bat.

On the other hand, we have Tilak, who is also struggling for Mumbai Indians. He is managing to score 30s and 40s in certain games. But the issue is that they are coming at a strike rate of less than 120, and this is not acceptable in the IPL standard of cricket.

Telugu youngster who debuted for Mumbai Indians this year is Satyanarayana Raju. He was played by Mumbai team in the first two games and he struggled in both of them. But considering the fact that he is still very young, there is a lot to learn, and he will get better with him.

But great things were expected from Nitish and Tilak this year. However, they appear to be struggling to get things on point as they haven’t played to their true potential in the four games thus far. We can only hope that things continue to get better for these two Telugu starlets as a lot is riding on them.
