Cricketer Shami to Pay ₹4 Lakh Monthly to Wife

Team India pacer Mohammed Shami has been facing personal issues for several years now. He married model Hasin Jahan in 2014, but their relationship soon turned bitter. Within four years, the two separated, and Hasin filed multiple cases against Shami and his family, including serious allegations of domestic violence. Despite the legal troubles, Shami has continued to focus on his cricket career.

Now, the Kolkata High Court delivered a major order. It has directed Shami to pay a total of ₹4 lakh every month as maintenance. Out of this, ₹1.5 lakh goes to his wife Hasin and ₹2.5 lakh to their daughter. The court also stated that this amount should be calculated from the past seven years, meaning Shami now has to clear a large sum as pending dues.

Earlier, a local court had ordered him to pay ₹50000 to Hasin and ₹80000 to his daughter every month, and he was reportedly following that. However, Hasin later approached the High Court, arguing that Shami’s earnings had increased and the maintenance amount should reflect that. The court reviewed his income, which is said to be around ₹7 to ₹8 crore annually, and agreed to raise the maintenance amount.

The dispute between the two has been full of accusations and counterclaims. While Hasin accused Shami and his family of abuse and even claimed his brother tried to sexually assault her, Shami’s side has claimed that she married him only for money and is targeting him deliberately.
