Holding the jersey sponsorship deal for the Indian cricket team is a pretty significant deal, considering the kind of vast reach and potential that comes with it. That is the reason why multi million dollar companies often rush to spend huge money on the same.
However, the topic of discussion now here is the termination of the contract between Dream11 and BCCI, as it has been communicated that the jersey sponsorship deal has been cancelled.
Earlier, Dream 11 used to sponsor the jersey for the Indian team and their logo was printed on the Indian jersey. This deal was worth in range of ₹358 crore upon retention.
However, the Indian government has decided to ban all sort of money related gaming applications, and this will mean that Dream11 will also have to shut down operations. The company has already communicated that they are no longer taking money for their fantasy games and shutting down this wing.
The BCC has also communicated that they are terminating the contract and do not wish to partner with such companies in the future.
The latest news is that automobile manufacturer Toyota is reportedly keen on entering the sponsorship deal with India. The automobile manufacturer reportedly feels sponsoring the Indian jersey would increase their reach in the subcontinent market, and a deal could be struck soon.
