The New Zealand cricket team has become an Achilles heel for the Indian team in multiple formats. It must be noted that New Zealand humiliated India in the test series in 2025 by beating the host nation in all three test matches.
And now a problematic scenario has come up in the ongoing ODI series for India which stands in neutrality with both New Zealand and India winning one game each.
The series is going to be played on January 18, Sunday, and there is a lot of anticipation depending on the same. The most important factor here is that India must be in absolute elite form in this third and deciding game.
One crucial observation here is that India had never lost an ODI series against New Zealand in home conditions and they will be looking to maintain this perfect streak in the ongoing ODI series as well.
At the same time, New Zealand team that cannot be underestimated as they could successfully chase a significant target in the second ODI game this week. If India gives New Zealand, any sort of hope or chance to get back in the series, they will certainly make the most of the same.
India is yet to recover from the humiliating test series defeat against New Zealand, and they can barely afford another such performance in the ODI series.
So we will have to wait till January 18 to see if India would maintain the perfect record against New Zealand in home ODI series’ or if they’d get humiliated this time around as well.
