Padma Shri 2026: Two Indian Cricketers Honoured

The central government has officially announced the Padma Shri award winners for the year 2026, and this list features two prominent Indian cricketers this time.

Former team Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri award this time and this is a befitting tribute to his illustrious career. This must be a proper reward to Rohit Sharma in the closing stages of his career and rightly so as well.

Another Indian cricketer who is conferred with the Padma Shri award is the captain of Indian female cricket team Harmanpreet Kaur. She happens to be the first Indian female cricketer to win this prestigious award from the Indian government.

Harmanpreet Kaur has been one of the finest women cricketers for India over the years, and she had even won the recent World Cup for the country. So this is a fair reward for her significant contributions towards Indian Cricket.
