SA Beat India, Fans Thrash Sports Channel

One of the crucial Super 8 games of the ongoing T20 World Cup was held in Ahmedabad last night and South Africa ended up beating India by a comprehensive margin of 76. 

The degree of this defeat is already a major point of concern for India as their progression towards the semi-final season is in serious doubt now. In this viral ad that was published by Star sports, the Indian team is seen mocking South Africa by saying they will have to settle for a cupcake again as they will not win the tournament in India’s watch. This ad film was featured extensively on Stat sports before the start of the game and it instantly drew a lot of negativity. 

Many people publicly commented that it was extremely insensible and illogical from the TV channel to feature such an ad that humiliate the other team during the tournament. Due to all the backlash, the channel had to delete this ad film and related social media posts.

However, the fire from the social media did not go down as South Africa ended up crashing India very badly in the game and they have now started to mock the channel for airing such an ad. The roles have completely reversed now as South Africa is in Top Gear while India is struggling.

Subsequently, people are now calling for better sense and maturity while preparing ads on behalf of India as overaction can simply lead to endless trolls and backlash like the way it’s happening now.
