Target @ 196: India’s Mistake, But Can They Do It?

One of the most crucial games of the ongoing T20 World Cup is currently happening in Kolkata as West Indies is facing home team India in a virtual knockout game.

There is a lot of emphasis on this particular match as the winner of this game would be progressing to the semi-final next.

West Indies were put to bat first and they scored 195 runs in the first innings, which is a reasonably significant target in such a high-pressure game. But this was sparkly due to the mistakes done by India on the field today.

India dropped as many as three catches and an easy runout chance, which gave West Indies multiple lifelines to hold up the wickets and get to a big total in the end.

At one stage, it looked like West Indies could be reaching 200 or above, but this was restricted due to good bowling from Arshdeep Singh and Jaspreet Bumrah in the end.

India will need to chase down a target of 196 runs in the second innings. If they are to win this game and ultimately progress to the semi-final, and this is going to be a really interesting chase. Top batsmen Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson will have to be on the top of their game to give India a positive start.
