Niharika Konidela caught everyone’s attention with the production venture titled Committee Kurrollu. The actress is now back again with a new venture titled Rakasa. Sangeeth Shobhan plays the lead role, and this one is a typical horror comedy film, tailor-made for Sangeeth. Manasa Sharma is the director, marking her directorial debut. The makers released the teaser, which has fun elements along with eerie stuff.
The teaser introduces us to a village that is gripped by supernatural forces, from the voice-over of Tanikella Bharani. And then lands Sangeeth as Veeru in the village, who returns from the USA. He is friends with Getup Srinu and accidentally gets involved in a lot of situations without his control, which leads to some hilarious situations. Ultimately, Veeru realises that there is a ghost in the village, and what happens then and how he tackles that forms the story of the movie.
The film seems to be following the typical commercial formula that any horror comedy would follow. Interestingly, it looks like working because of the freshness in visuals and cast. Nayana Sarika plays the female lead, while the music is composed by Anudeep Dev. It’s been a while since Telugu cinema witnessed a horror comedy and if Rakasa clicks, it would revive the genre once again. Post the success of Kishkindhapuri, the following for the horror genre is evident.
Rakasa will hit the screens on April 3rd 2026.
