Naman Ojha Retires

Former India wicketkeeper and batsman, Naman Ojha has announced his retirement after an illustrious domestic career of two-long decades. Ojha holds the record for the most dismissals by a wicketkeeper in the Ranji Trophy. In 2014 IPL auctions, he was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a fee of 83 lakhs Indian rupees.

Naman Ojha announced his retirement at Indore yesterday and said that it’s time to move on. “Absolutely no regrets, but for the last two years, the body wasn’t coping with keeping wickets in the longer formats and with the MP team in transition, I thought this is the right time to move on,” Ojha said. He made 22 hundreds and 55 half-centuries in First-Class cricket. “I will explore opportunities in global T20 leagues to keep playing the game I have loved since childhood,” he added.

Back in 2000, he debuted for Madhya Pradesh, at the age of 17 and later played in one ODI and two T20Is, besides representing India in a test in Sri Lanka in 2015. He was prominently in the limelight for his contribution during SRH run to the IPL title in 2016. He, earlier, represented Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils in the T20 league.
