Once upon a time India’s leading and premium airlines Jet Airways was forced to ground all flights in April 2019 owing to a huge financial crisis. Since then Jet Airways has been trying its best to get over and finally a UK based Jalan Kalrock Consortium has agreed to fund the airlines.
The progress is moving smoothly and as per the sources, Jet Airways is set to touch the skies yet again from the first quarter of 2022. UAE businessman Murari Lal Jalan, lead member of Consortium and the proposed Non-Executive Chairman of Jet Airways said, “Jet Airways 2.0 aims at restarting domestic operations by Q1-2022 and we are considering resuming international operations from third or fourth quarter of 2022.”
Jalan added that it is the first time in the history of Aviation that an airline grounded for more than 2 years is being revived.
Earlier in June, Jet Airways revival plan was approved by the National Companies Law Tribunal (NCLT) and since then the company has been closely working with authorities and airport coordinators, required airport infrastructure, and night parking of flights.
In its 2.0 avatar Jet Airways will be headquartered in New Delhi while the senior management will be working from the Corporate Office at Gurgaon.
