India’s First Sologamy! Woman To Marry Herself

For the first-ever time in India, a woman is getting married, but without a groom. Calling it India’s first sologamy, the woman is all set to get married to herself.

Kshama Bindu from Gujarat is a 24-year-old woman to set to wed herself in a traditional Hindu marriage. She will be tying knot to herself and will also have pheras and vows.

She reportedly wrote five wedding vows and after the wedding, Kshama Bindu is planning to have a 2-week Honeymoon, of course with herself.

Kshama’s wedding to herself is heard to be her idea to highlight the fact that ‘women matter’.

However, the experts opine that sefl marriage would not have any legal standing in India. A senior Highcourt advocate Krishnakat Vakharia said that there has to be two persons in a marriage and as per India laws, you cannot marry yourself.

Bindu says her mother who lives in another city, gave her consent for this unusual ‘groomless wedding’. Bindu says she wants to break the stereotypes and inspire others to love themselves. Bindu says she is a bisexual and was in love with a man and a woman in the past. But now, I want to give all the love to myself.
