Domestic Abuse: Indian Woman Commits Suicide In The US

In a shocking and outraging incident, an Indian woman in the US committed suicide because she could take the domestic abuse anymore. Mandeep Kaur was beaten and abused for last 8 years.

Mandeep Kaur recorded a video before giving up on her life and she broke down in it saying she tolerated all the torture and beatings every day. She did not even let her family take legal action against her husband hoping he will mend his ways one day. She was seen weeping in the video while she said, ‘It’s been eight years; I cannot take daily beatings now.’ She has two daughters, aged 6 and 4.

Mandeep Kaur also said in her video that her husband and in-laws are forcing her to die by suicide. She said, ‘Daddy, I am going to die, please forgive me.’ Mandeep Kaur died on August 4. The Indian consulate in New York has responded to the incident and promised to help Mandeep Kaur’s daughters who are still with their father.

Mandeep Kaur’s husband Ranjodhbeer Singh Sandhu worked as a truck driver in the US. Mandeep Kaur’s family said they once went to the police in New York with a video of him beating her. Many videos of Ranjodheer beating Mandeep Kaur have gone viral.

Mandeep Kaur’s video was shared on social media by The Kaur Movement, an organization that works for sexual and domestic abuse victims.

There is no reaction from Mandeep Kaur’s husband yet on these incidents.
