Breaking: 16 Indian Army Soldiers Killed In Accident

In a tragedy 16 Indian army soldiers have fallen to death in the northern region of Sikkim state. Going into details, an army truck carrying 16 soldiers fell into a deep gorge in Zema, north Sikkim. Eye witnesses say that the vehicle lost control and skidded down a steep slope while taking a sharp turn.

Three Junior Commissioned Officers and 13 soldiers were in the truck during the time of accident. As soon as the vehicle fell into the gorge, the rescue operation was immediately launched. But the rescue team’s efforts were in vain. The Indian army issued a statement on this accident and added that four soldiers were rescued and airlifted to provide better medical support.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was distressed to learn about this tragic accident. Rajnath in a tweet added that the nation is deeply grateful for their service and commitment. My condolences to the bereaved families.

The army truck was part of a three-vehicle convoy that had moved from Chatten in the morning hours towards Thangu valley.
