Vinod Kambli booked for assaulting wife

Vinod Kambli, a former Indian cricketer, has been accused of assaulting his wife Andrea while under the influence of alcohol in front of their two children. The Bandra police have filed an FIR against Kambli after Andrea approached them with her allegations.

According to her statement, Kambli was drinking and became abusive and violent, throwing a broken handle of a cooking pan at her and injuring her head. She managed to escape with their children and sought medical treatment before filing a complaint with the police.

The police have registered an FIR against Kambli under sections 324 (voluntarily causing injury with dangerous weapons) and 504 (intentional insult with the intention of provoking a breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code. The police are currently investigating the matter.
