On Saturday morning, a tragic incident occurred in Secunderabad, as a four-year-old girl lost her life after falling into an open manhole. The victim, identified as Mounika, resided in Kalasiguda and had gone out to buy a packet of milk when the incident happened.
According to the police, the child fell into the open manhole and got swept away. The family was informed by some bystanders who noticed the incident. Soon after, the GHMC DRF team and local police began a search operation to locate the child. After a thorough search, the body was found in the nala at Park Lane and retrieved by the authorities.
The victim’s body was then shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary. More details are awaited regarding the incident. This unfortunate tragedy serves as a reminder of the need for ensuring proper maintenance of civic amenities to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
