Hyd: Owner Arrested For Secretly Recording Female Tenants

In a shocking violation of privacy, a homeowner in Hyderabad has been apprehended for covertly recording his female tenants. The accused, identified as Syed Saleem, aged 40, had rented out a property to unsuspecting young women and allegedly installed hidden cameras within the premises.

Approximately two months ago, a 20-year-old woman from Assam, accompanied by her brother and a friend, rented a room in Saleem’s house located in the Hailam Colony of Venkatagiri near Yousufguda. Taking advantage of his position as a landlord, Saleem reportedly placed a camera inside an “electricity meter box” in the room occupied by the young women.

Saleem managed to connect the camera to his personal computer, which was located in his own room. He further integrated the camera with a mobile phone application, allowing him to secretly monitor the activities of the unsuspecting tenants. The young women remained oblivious to Saleem’s voyeuristic activities until Monday night, when they followed their intuition and opened the “electricity meter box.” Their shock was immeasurable upon discovering the hidden camera concealed inside the box. Upon closer examination, they traced the connected wire leading to Saleem’s residence.

Swiftly reacting to the situation, the tenants lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police, who promptly detained Saleem. As part of their ongoing investigation, the police seized Saleem’s mobile phone, digital video recorder (DVR), and the hidden camera used in the illicit surveillance.

The authorities are treating the matter with utmost seriousness, recognizing the severe breach of privacy that the victims have endured. The investigation will delve into the extent of the recordings made by Saleem, the duration of the illegal surveillance, and whether any additional individuals were affected by his actions.
