Fake Toll Plaza Cheats Everyone Over 1.5 Years

A fraudulent toll plaza operated by local strongmen on the Bamanbore-Kutch national highway in Gujarat managed to deceive government officials for over a year.

The illicit toll collection was conducted on private land, bypassing the actual highway, in Morbi, Gujarat. The perpetrators charged truck drivers half the regular toll amount at their unauthorized booth, successfully evading detection by police and government authorities for 1.5 years.

The toll scam operated by diverting traffic through land owned by the White House Ceramic Company, a closed factory, and the Varghasia village. The illegal toll collection went unnoticed until authorities received information about vehicles being diverted from the authorized route, prompting an investigation and subsequent complaint by Morbi district officials.

The police have registered a case against the owner of White House Ceramic Company, Amarshi Patel, along with others involved in the scam. The perpetrators extorted money from truck drivers, exploiting them to pay the fake toll plaza.
