Paris Olympic Medals Showing Signs of Rust!

The 2024 Paris Olympics triggered too many controversies in many aspects. Now, after almost six months of the tournament’s completion, there is criticism that the medals are showing signs of rust and deterioration.

Indian Bronze medallists Swapnil Kusale and Sarabjot Singh have complained that the color had started to come off within days of the podium ceremony.

Manu Bhaker, who won two Bronze medals, also has a similar complaint. She mentioned that her team contacted the authorities.

It starkly contrasts with Olympic medals given decades ago that have maintained mainly their pristine condition. As a result, the IOC contacted the Paris organizers with the concerns and raised the request for replacement, which is expected to begin in a few weeks.

The sources say that the number of such damaged medals is over 100 worldwide.

American skateboarder Nyjah Huston, French swimmers Yohann Ndoye-Brouard and Clément Secchi also claimed that the medals started deteriorating.
