Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was in the news recently for his stabbing incident, is back in the headlines for a different reason. This time, he made it to the media due to the controversy regarding his ancestral properties worth Rs. 15,000 crore.
Getting into details, reports say that there is a chance of Saif and his family members losing their ancestral properties worth Rs. 15,000 crores in Madhya Pradesh due to a recent order from the High Court. The order lifted the stay on these properties which means now, the government can take control over them under the “Enemy Property Act”, which targets the properties belonging to individuals or families who migrated to Pakistan after partition.
After this order has been passed, Saif’s ancestral properties like his childhood home, Flag Staff House, and the Noor-Us-Sabah Palace are under threat. The daughter of Saif’s maternal grandfather, the Nawab of Bhopal, migrated to Pakistan after the partition. As Saif’s family is linked to her, the government has tagged them in this case.
Meanwhile, Saif and his family members have yet to respond to this issue. Earlier, Saif reclaimed his Pataudi Palace from a hotel chain. He now uses it as his summer home and also rents it out for film shoots. For the unversed, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal was shot in Saif’s Pataudi Palace. It has to be seen if he will fight to reclaim his Madya Pradesh properties as well.
