The iPhone 17 series went on sale across India today, creating massive excitement and chaos at several Apple Stores. In cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, people lined up outside stores from midnight to get their hands on the new models.
At the BKC Jio Centre Apple Store in Mumbai, the rush turned ugly when a few customers broke the queue, leading to scuffles and pushing. Some even attacked each other before security personnel intervened and brought the situation under control. Videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media.
This year, Apple launched the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Max, and the ultra-slim iPhone Air. The iPhone Air is Apple’s thinnest phone ever, measuring just 5.6 mm. Alongside the phones, Apple also introduced Apple Watch Series 11, Watch Ultra 3, Watch SE 3, and AirPods Pro 3.
The iPhone 17 comes with major upgrades including AI-powered features, a faster A19 Bionic chip, improved battery life, and enhanced camera quality. Gaming performance has also been significantly boosted, making it a big attraction for young buyers.
The starting price of the iPhone 17 in India is ₹79,900, with premium variants costing over a lakh. The orange color edition is expected to be the most popular. Pre-orders began on September 12, and demand has already skyrocketed, with #iPhone17 trending on social media.
Despite the high price, the craze for Apple products in India remains strong, as seen by the huge queues outside stores in major cities.
