More Tourists For Statue Of Unity Than Statue Of Liberty

The Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, in Gujarat is reportedly witnessing more tourists than the Statue of Liberty in the US. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue with 182 metres tall (597 feet) installed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is twice the size of the Statue of Liberty. And this statue is said to have attracted more tourists than the Statue Of Liberty in recent times.  The Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue is located on the banks of the Narmada River. And the statue is surrounded by famous Vindyachal and Satpura ranges. This beautiful location makes the visit a better experience.

While the Statue of Liberty was completed in 1886, it is a symbol of America as a nation that champions freedom. America has been on the immigrants top list. Whereas the Statue of Unity was completed in 2018 and it was built with a whopping cost of Rs 2989 crore and it is one of the costliest developments in India in recent years. Given this, media reports indicate that the Statue of Unity is getting more tourist footfall than the Statue of Liberty. One of the key objectives of the Statue of Unity is also to improve tourism and revenue for the local government. This is indeed turning out to be true.
