Playing Loud Music on Flights Can Land You in Trouble!

Playing loud music without earphones in a flight could land air passengers in trouble. The Union government said penal action can be initiated against passengers playing loud music inside aircrafts, if it caused inconvenience to other passengers onboard.

Replying to a query by Namakkal MP Matheshwaran, MoS Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol said playing music loudly inside the aircraft without using earphones could lead to action against the passenger, as it amounts to unruly behavior under the aviation rules.

Speaking about the guidelines regarding music inside the aircraft, the Minister said there was no problem with airlines playing soft instrumental music during boarding and disembarkation. Other in-flight entertainment systems are also permitted during the flight.

The MoS said no new penal provisions would be introduced to deal with unruly passengers but authorities would act on complaints, basing on the existing rules framed by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

On another query over video blogging inside the aircraft, Mohol said that Rule 13 of the Aircraft Rules restricts photography at DGCA-licensed aerodromes and also on aircrafts in flight, without prior permission.
